Our Story
Hello! Welcome to our home dIY & Outdoor Project Blog.
My name is Meredith and I am thrilled to share our journey with you.
I am joined by my husband, Daniel, and together, we have four young children. As a family, we homeschool, travel when possible, and continually work on our home projects.
Daniel is not only a busy Project Engineer but also a perpetual home project do-er. He is always coming up with new ideas and ways to improve our home, from building a traditional wood stove sauna in a cabin to installing a zip-line in our front yard.
For myself, I keep quite busy with everything that goes in to caring for young kids, homeschooling, and trying to keep a house from falling apart. I also run a small side business of web development. My home DIY passions are painting, moving furniture around, and never quite getting a handle on my organizational goals.
Happily situated on 6.5 acres, our home is nothing spectacular, but it’s a place we cherish. We have a dog, a cat, and a flock of chickens. We use our property for all sorts of activities, like archery, shooting, go-carting and mowing. Lots and lots of mowing!
One thing we have discovered through owning three older homes over the last decade is the art of home projects on a budget. We have become experts at finding creative solutions and maximizing our resources to achieve great results without breaking the bank. We are excited to share our thrifty tips and tricks with you, proving that creating a warm and inviting space is possible for everyone.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire and empower you to create a cozy haven in your own home. We want to share the ups and downs of caring for a home and provide a glimpse into the joys and challenges of our DIY adventures.
Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or just starting your home improvement journey, we hope you find inspiration and valuable insights here. Thank you for joining us as we transform our house and property in the heart of the South.
We appreciate y’all!
