I have to admit- I can’t wait for fall. This has not always been the case, and in fact, I could not STAND it when people wished away summer and yearned for cooler autumn days. Until I moved to Georgia.
Whew! We have had summer for a few months already, and its only getting started! It was wonderful, until a few weeks ago. Now we go outside and are immediately enveloped in a sauna-esque atmosphere.
I’m ready for cooler temps and crips autumn mornings.
9 Fall Front Porch Decor Ideas
All The Colorful Mums
Mums are a classic fall plant. These plants prefer cooler temperatures, and and their flowers bloom all the way until winter. Buy fresh, or cheat a little (but save money in the long run!) and buy artificial.
I found these beautiful fake plants this year, and I’m so impressed with how realistic they look. Bonus- I don’t have to worry about them dying when I inevitably forget about them, and they’ll be good year after year!
Simple Black and White
Black and white is a classic fall pairing. You can combine black and white pillows and add a flair of color with pumpkins, or keep it simple like this beautiful fall porch. I love these white pumpkins that I currently have on my front stoop and on my sauna cabin porch.
a Fun Fall Welcome Mat
Welcome guests with a fall-themed doormat. I picked this one up at Hobby Lobby, but you can find a similar option here.
Pair it with a simple striped or brown/black buffalo checkered doormat.
Drape Garland
Garland adds such a pretty and maximalist vibe to a fall front porch! This trend is becoming increasingly popular.
There are so many options- I ordered this one off of Amazon recently and love how full it is. I put it on my mantle, but might buy one more and drape them over my front door like in the picture above.
Extra Lights for Coziness
Outdoor string lights aren’t only for Christmas! Up your home’s coziness by adding string lights to your front porch decor. We painted our sauna cabin a lovely dark shade and I love how the simple white pumpkins and string lights pop against the black exterior!
Light up your porch with lanterns or flameless candles for a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Decorative Baskets
Fill decorate baskets or crates with seasonal items like apples, acorns or cinnamon-scented pinecones. Or add a mum plant or dried leaves like in the picture above. Baskets can also be a great functional add to the front porch- store boots, umbrellas or dog leashes!
Natural Elements
Incorporate natural elements like hay bales, cornstalks, and dried corn husks for a rustic fall vibe. Simply adding the hale bales with the colorful orange and white pumpkins elevates the look on this lovely fall front porch.
Cozy Seating Area
Once the humidity breaks here in the south, we love sitting outside on our front porch in the evenings and basking in the cooler and crisper air. Create a cozy seating area with outdoor furniture or a bench adorned with seasonal throw pillows and blankets.
Simple Fall Wreath
I love a fall wreath that is simple and can last all season- I could even use this one through Christmas. I picked up this one at Hobby Lobby, and here is another really cute option.
