Chattanooga, Tennessee is a great day trip destination. Living just a couple of hours away in north Georgia, we love hopping over for a day of adventure with our kiddos!
In fact, it was one of the most highly recommended places for us to visit when we first moved to the south a few years ago- because of its kid-friendly options.
Chattanooga has so much to offer for families, and the best part is that many activities are budget-friendly or even free. Here are some of the best and cheapest things to do in Chattanooga with kids.
Chattanooga With Kids
1. Coolidge Park
Coolidge Park, located along the Tennessee River, is a must-visit. The kids love the beautiful carousel, which only costs $1 per ride.
There’s also plenty of green space to run around, a fun fountain to splash in during warmer months, and stunning views of the Walnut Street Bridge.
2. Walnut Street Bridge
Speaking of the Walnut Street Bridge, it’s the perfect spot for a family stroll.
This pedestrian-only bridge offers breathtaking views of the river and the city. Kids will enjoy watching boats go by, and it’s completely free to enjoy!
3. Tennessee Aquarium
While not the cheapest option on the list, the Tennessee Aquarium is worth every penny. With its two buildings dedicated to river and ocean habitats, kids can marvel at everything from playful otters to mesmerizing jellyfish.
